The top to the bar was made of one and a half inch cypress. These boards are recycled cypress because they once were floor boards to an old mill. They have a very rustic look as they are full of nail holes. The bar top is in three parts that were put together by a hand cut dovetail.

The wine rack was cut as lateral lines in two cypress boards. These boards were then cut into strips and put face to face with grooves setting in grooves and which gave the criss-cross design seen.
